Haleji Lake (Urdu: ہالیجی جھیل) is a perennial freshwater lake in Thatta District of Sindh Province, Pakistan. It is approximately 17 feet deep, with a water level of 12 feet as of August, 2021.
This large lake, located just 77 kilometers from Karachi, was formerly a popular picnic spot and a well-known bird sanctuary. it is still regarded as one of Asia’s largest bird sanctuaries.
Haleji Lake is home to 22 bird species and roughly 100 crocodiles, according to the Sindh Wildlife Department.
