Shoaib (علیہ السلام) was an Allah Almighty-sent prophet who was also Musa’s father-in-law (علیہ السلام). Shoaib (علیہ السلام) was sent to Madin, according to the Qur’an.
He was sent to Madin at a period when the city’s population was dwindling and it was troubled by rebellions and disobedience.
Shoaib’s father was Mikael, and Mikael’s father was Yashjar, and Yashjar’s father was Madyan, and Madyan’s father was Ibrahim (علیہ السلام). Because Shoaib (علیہ السلام) excellent at addressing his people, his title was changed to Khatib-ul-Anbiya (Khateeb ul Anbiya) (خطیب الانبیاء).
