On the River Indus, between Kohistan district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Diamer district in Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan administered Kashmir, the Diamer-Bhasha Dam is a concrete-filled gravity dam in the beginning phases of development. In 1998, the then-President of Pakistan lay the foundation stone. With a height of 272 metres, the eight million acre-foot (MAF) reservoir will be the world’s tallest roller compact concrete (RCC) dam.
