Amir Khosro is a Sufi poet who writes in Persian and Urdu. he is also called Toti Hind (طوطی ہند).  Khawaja Nizamuddin was a dear disciple of the saints. Khusro also had great devotion to the Murshid.

In 1253 Amir Khosrow was born in Agra. His mother was Indian. Shortly after becoming an orphan at the age of eight, the family moved to Delhi and Amir Khusro saw the reign of eight kings of the Delhi Empire (slaves, Khilji and Tughlaq) and was active in the political, social and cultural life of the early Islamic Empire in the subcontinent.
