Between the valleys of the Indus and Jhelum rivers lies the Salt Range, a group of hills and low mountains in Pakistan’s Punjab province.

From east to west, the range is around 186 miles (300 kilometres) long, with a width of 5 to 19 miles in the centre and eastern regions. It has an average elevation of 2,200 feet and a maximum elevation of 4,992 feet at Sakesar Mountain (1,522 m).
