Ghazwa Abwa is the First Ghazwa of Islam. Ghazwa Wadan is another name for this battle. Abwa is the first expedition, in which the Holy Prophet (PBUH), with 60 Muhajireen, left Madinah with the goal of jihad for the first time in the month of Safar 2 AH. He pursued the infidels all the way to Abwa, but they had fled to Mecca, so there was no fighting.

“Al-Abwa'” is a village located between Mecca and Medina near Waddan. The Prophet’s (s) mother, Amina bt. Wahb, was buried in al-Abwa’.
