The Sukkur Barrage is the oldest barrage of Pakistan , a barrage on the Indus River at Sukkur in Pakistan’s Sindh. The Lloyd Barrage (old name) was constructed between 1923 and 1932 during the British Raj. The Sukkur Barrage, the world’s largest single irrigation system of its sort, is the gem of Pakistan’s irrigation system.
